So... today my son is born... It took us completely by surprise! Here is how it went:
Luba was set to go to the doc to get a last check-up before the C-section on friday. All went fine, except the doc was running a bit late due to a few emergency patients, so we went to have coffee, view some artwork at a nearby gallery, etc, etc... just a relaxing day, thinking about everything we need to do before the baby comes...
Anyways... the doc does his thing, all fine, all well, everybody happy... the baby is big, about 3.8kg (but everybody says the docs are always wrong, although his secretary says he is always right... so we shall see!) and as he finishes off, I joke about Luba's complaint the other day that the Braxton Hics was getting sore - which i turn had me out of bed at 2am, checking the suitcases and stuff we still need for friday...

Wow!!!
I have just listened to the most amazing lecture on Time Management.
This is one of the last lecturers of the late Randy Pausch at the University of Virginia's Old Cabell Hall Auditorium.
I really don't know what to tell you about it, except that it's absolutely eye-opening and very down to earth... Very funny, but exceptionally true.
It's hundreds of small tips on how to manage your time better, so that you can "spend time with the PEOPLE YOU LOVE"!

You know what, I am a big fan of medicine, and medical professionals in general. I do not agree with the philosophy that the average doctor is just out to buy another beach house, and I think I have a little bit of an idea of what it actually cost in time and money to run a successful practice AND stay up to date with new research and new medicines and treatments.
I also have a lot of respect for all the scientists and medical professionals that go out of their way in an effort to find cures for diseases and make our lifestyle better...
What I have no time for is greed, fear-mongering and the spin-doctors that market stuff to us... things we generally do not need:

As you may or may not know, Luba had undergone some surgery for endometriosis some time ago and because of the trauma associated with that event, we started researching this phenomenon, finding out the what, where and why's of the disease affecting an estimated 89 million women of reproductive age around the world. One of the big culprits is the fake Hormones in our bodies (like xenoestrogen) which is more often than not, release from plastics, especially heated plastics. One specific culprit seems to be Bisphenol-A (BPA) and we have written quite a bit about it in the past...
As people become more aware, we have been asked by a few people for updates about BPA and what exactly is wrong with it, and so came across a few very recent and very interesting articles. Apparently the US FDA is holding hearings again to determine whether BPA is safe for use...

It's 36 weeks into your pregnancy (not 36 weeks to go!), and as a friend of mine puts it... you are very close to entering the "no-sex" zone. But... you are either:
a. A guy... (do I really need to say more?) b. 36 weeks pregnant and your hormones are going bonkers!
So what to do, what to do? Can you have sex? should you be having sex right now?
